bgremover
Privacy

Your images stay yours.

bgremover is a self-hosted background-removal service. This policy explains what we process, what we store, and what we never keep.

Last updated: May 16, 2026

1. The short version

We built bgremover to be privacy-respecting by default. Uploaded images are processed in memory and streamed straight back to you. We do not store, archive, or reuse your images. The only personal data we retain is the minimum needed to run your account and billing.

2. Images you upload

When you remove a background, your image is sent to our server, processed transiently, and the resulting transparent PNG is streamed back in the same request. The image is held only in memory for the duration of processing and is not written to disk or retained after the response is delivered. We do not use your images to train models or for any purpose beyond returning your result.

3. Account data

If you sign in, we use Google OAuth. We never see or store your Google password. From your Google profile we store:

  • Your email address
  • Your display name
  • Your profile avatar URL
  • Plan, credit balance, and usage metadata needed to enforce limits

This data exists so you can sign in, see your remaining credits, and so we can apply the correct plan limits.

4. Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. Card numbers and payment details are entered on Stripe's infrastructure and processed by Stripe — we never receive or store your full card data. We keep only the subscription and plan status Stripe reports back so we can grant the right credits. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for how they handle payment information.

5. Advertising

Free and anonymous visitors may see ads served by Google AdSense. AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. We do not share your account data with advertisers. You can review and control this through Google's Advertising policies and Google's Privacy Policy. Paid plans do not display ads.

6. Analytics and logs

We do not run third-party analytics or behavioral tracking. Operational server logs (such as request timestamps and error traces) are kept transiently for reliability and abuse prevention, and are not used to build advertising or marketing profiles.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to enforce free-tier rate limits. If ads are shown to you, Google AdSense sets additional cookies as described above.

8. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the processors required to operate the service — Google (sign-in, ads) and Stripe (payments) — each acting under their own policies.

9. Your rights

We aim to be GDPR- and CCPA-friendly. You can request access to, or deletion of, your account data at any time. Because images are never stored, there is nothing to delete on that front. Email digital@walkthruit.com and we will action requests within a reasonable period.
